A fabulous capture of the bird against the blue sky. One of my top three picks from 'Bird Watchers' today.

Thank you Nina!

Excellent in-flight shot Jan, with the tail spread and great details of its plumage, and that little catch-light at the eye rendering the photo more beautiful.

Thank you Asbed!

Wow, you caught him going straight up! If you haven't already seen it, there is a documentary on PBS about Hummingbirds. The videographer slowed down the Hummingbird thru the camera so you could hear when they go straight up, and come down, they make a "CHEEP" sound. They finally discovered, that the sound the male makes when coming down when dive bombing another bird, is because he is actually breaking "the sound barrier"! So now when I see them starting their climb, and diving back down, I know what that CHEEP noise is... Anyways.. great capture you got here Jan! LF4
Holden The Moment replied:
Thank you and that is really neat.
